Mr. Claude Arthur Graham, age 80, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Tuesday, August 3, 2010. He was a 1948 graduate of Comstock Park High School where he excelled in footfall, track, and baseball. Claude competed as a semi-pro in football for the Grand Rapids All Stars. He was an avid boxer, and in 1949 Claude was honored as the Golden Glove Champion novice in the 175 lb. category. Beginning at the age of 18, he raced stock cars at the Speedrome, and also enjoyed golfing. Claude bravely and honorably served his country in the US Army, 11th Airborne during the Korean Conflict, and was a member of the American Legion Post #47 of Comstock Park. He was the owner of B and C Distributing, retiring in 1985. Claude was a Gold Card member of the Casino Club. His family would like to thank the caregivers and staff at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans, 3 South, for the love, care, and compassion given to Claude. He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; son, Scott and Arlene Graham of Ada; grandchildren, Derek Jennica Graham and Larisa Graham of CO; brother, Floyd (Marge) Graham of Rockford; sisters, Vivian (Russ) Fales of Sparta, and Norma (Al) Conner of Belmont; brother-in-law, Ed Sundstrom of Baldwin; many nieces and nephews. Claude was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Helen (Goldner) Graham.
