Mrs. Molly Shana Barr, age 35, of Rockford, passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior on Tuesday morning, July 20, 2010, surrounded by her loving family following a very brave and courageous battle with cancer. Molly grew up in Springfield, Oregon where she attended Springfield High School. While in high school, she was the homecoming queen, prom queen, played soccer, ran track, and was on the diving team. While running track she ran in the 100 meter, 200 meter, 4x100, and her best events were the long jump and triple jump. As a teenager she accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. Molly went to Central Michigan University on a track and academic scholarship. It was there that she met Cameron; and after hanging out for five and one half years, he proposed on Christmas Eve while kneeling in front of the Christmas tree. With Cameron, Alexis, and Natalie she liked to camp in a tent, play board games, hike, and have a family time at the "Y." She is survived by her loving husband, Cameron whom she married on September 30, 2000; daughters, Alexis and Natalie; parents, John Thomas and his wife, Lorraine of Eugene, OR, Sharon Alden and her husband, John of Springfield, OR; sister, Heather (Paul) Van Buskirk of Springfield; Mom and Dad, Chuck and Kathi Barr; grandparents, Mrs. Jane Thomas, Mrs. Phyllis Cummings, Mrs. Esther Barr; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. The Service of Praise and Thanksgiving for the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ for Molly will be Friday at 7:00 p.m. at Algoma Baptist Church with Pastor David Fernlund officiating. Interment in Algoma Township Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider the needs of her daughters.
